Ug - Only 2pm and my free day is taking its tole. One day a week I 'treat' myself with all the food I avoid all week. This morning I had a soy latte with an apple bran muffin from the coffeehouse. For lunch I had a cheese and veggie sub, waffle fries, and a chocolate bar. Now I'm tired. zzzzzzzz
It still amazes me how good/bad I feel depending on what I put in my mouth. I was working the evening shift last wednesday. It was 7:30pm and I felt exhausted. My brain was telling me - EAT! EAT! Instead I drank two big glasses of water. Within the half hour I was awake and alert. If I stay hydrated and eat clean, I feel like an active and vital human being. When I'm sneaking in junk food and overeating, I feel like a zombie. Even the smallest bits of un clean food (cookies, pretzels, candies) throw off my energy and turn me into a slug. On good clean days, I will make it through entire days without a drop of caffiene. That's miraculous. In high school I was known as the Diet Coke Girl for the 20 ounce I always had in tow. In college I discovered soy lattes and have required a caffiene IV since. Since starting Body for Life amd p90x I haven't craved caffiene as fuel.
I must thank clean eating and regular exercise. I feel good physically and emotionally.
So how's p90x going...Well I just wrapped up week 7. Week 8 is a recovery week. This week I accomplished something (besides not missing a single workout!). I DID A PULL UP! Whoohooo!
Phase 3 is over after the recovery week. I still can't do crane or wheel during yoga. I do abs before my workouts instead of after. I have more energy to push myself through all 369 moves. Jeans that used to be my 'skinny jeans' are now loose. I've been feeling more progress in my strength these last two weeks. I've been more sore after workouts. Perhaps because I've built up the strength to increase my intensity. I have better form and can deepen my lunges.
I need to be more disciplined about stretching. I saw a Sports Physical Therapist last week to beging running sports therapy. She noted that my muscles are very tight. I have been skimping on cool downs. I do my workouts first thing. I go to bed at 11 and 3 days a week I'm up at 5:45am for a 6am workout. Thursday morning I did 90minutes of yoga before a full day of work.
Yoga is long, but I clear my mind and repeat to myself - I am taking care of my body.
My partner and I signed up for the Fitness Camp in Vegas. Actually, he signed up and I'm going with him. He's treating it like a fitness competition. He's giving up his free days a month before we go. I'm a wee bit nervous about the whole thing. I've been doing p90x and Body for Life for me, not as some competition. *sigh* But we've never been to Vegas so it should be fun.
I think that as we grow older (and it happens to all) Fitness becomes a very important part of our life. i work a lot , my job is too demanding usually in vegas. so everytime i stay at one of Las Vegas Hotels i go to the gym at least one in two days. its a must in my opinion.
